how does good

If something contains good, is it itself good? For example, if good philosophy is good, then is philosophy good (supposing perhaps that good triumphs bad)? If philosophy is contained within the stores of literature, then is literature good? If literature is contained within inventions, imaginations of the mind, then are imaginations good? If imaginations are a form of un-seen hallucination, then are hallucinations good? What defines 'good'? In mathematics there are axioms [link to new page]. Are there axioms for standard linguistics in terms of the set of words we have in a language's dictionary? Is there a certain way that words if applied to one word automatically apply to others? How does good fit into this? How does good work? How does good get applied to other concepts? How does good have a bearing on the application of the word bad?
